A pew is an enclosed compartment or fixed wooden bench found in a church, designed for seating several people.

A chair is a moveable seat designed for just one person with a back and (sometimes) arms.

The main different between chairs and stools is that in general, stools do not have a back rest. In addition, stools usually only have three legs whereas chairs usually have 4.
