Control arm bushings are the pivot points to which the wheel and hub assembly move on, allowing the wheel assy to move up and down in conjunction with the shock absorber. They are generally shaped like an "A" with the top of the "A" being attached to the wheel assy and the bottom of the "A" being attached to the vehicle frame. These are far more important than the...........
Sway bar bushings, which surround the sway bar(a thick metal bar with bent ends designed to twist) and are attached to the frame(in the front) or the differential(in the rear) by means of metal clamps and the control arms(both front and rear) and prevent the vehicle from rolling(pitching) excessively and keeping it quite level, when making sharp turns. All high performance and racing vehicles have them as standard equipment.
The links go on the end on the sway bar and hook to the suspension. Bushings are used to connect the sway bar to cars frame.
No.
Since The Villager is of unibody construction, there are only a couple things that can be considered "subframe bushings". Sway bar bushings (front and rear), rear leaf spring bushings, and the most likely, control arm bushings.
Rear upper & lower control arm bushings need to be replaced.
would it be subfram bushings that stop the car fromm swaing or sway bar bushings
Control arm and sway bar link bushings can not be serviced, however they may need to be replaced if making excessive noise.
change the sway bar rubber bushings and sway bar link bushings
Ball joints control arm bushings shock absorbers springs, coil or leaf sway bar end links and bushings
A little more information. Year/model. Some sway bar links become loose because of wear and the links continue to work but make a noise when the front end hits a bump. Other sway bar links will break altogether and the vehicle will lean excessivly when going around a corner.
What is bussin? Bushings? If so, which bushings? Upper Control Arm (A-arm) Bushings? Sway bar bushings -- front or rear? Ya lost me bud, try to be a little more specific and maybe use a spell checker.
diff b/w sway & nonsway
This is a well-known problem with this generation Pathfinders... the rear upper and lower control arm bushings are worn. Have them replaced and the sway should disappear.
