Copper scrap is now at close to $3.25 if it is bare bright. Spot copper is close to 4 USD as of November 2010. Update - as of May 26 2011 - scrap copper prices are in the $3.25 to $3.90 range depending on the type of scrap copper, quantity and how clean and prepared the scrap metal is. Clean bare brite copper with no insulation is paying the highest at scrap yards.
