Also Death metal's lyrics are focused on, well Death. Dying, ways to die, torture, etc
Black Metal's lyrics are mainly focused on anti-god, and satanism.
the vocals in black metal are a little bit screechier and higher then Death. Where Death metal has more growling like vocals.

∙ 14y agoBLACK = Satanic, often with an epic sound and shrieked vocals. Sometimes slightly gothic as well, but always anti-Christian. Roots in the NWOBHM with bands like Venom, followed by bands like Celtic Frost and Bathory. Big Scandinavian scene.
THRASH = fast, not particularly melodic, non-singing vocals. Roots in the NWOBHM and earlier with bands such as Motorhead and Diamond Head. Big Four are Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Big American and German scenes.
DEATH = fast, unmelodic, low, growled vocals. Interested in death and all things associated with it. Roots in thrash metal. Big American scene.
