∙ 10y agoThere is no difference between deoxyribose nucleic acid and deoxypentose nucleic acid; in fact, both terms refer to the same molecule: DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). DNA is made up of a sugar-phosphate backbone containing deoxyribose sugar units, which are the pentose sugars involved in forming the nucleic acid polymer.

Both DNA and RNA are polymers, which are molecules made up of repeating units called nucleotides. In the case of DNA, the nucleotides contain a deoxyribose sugar, while in RNA, the nucleotides contain a ribose sugar.
