What is the difference between food scientist and food technologist?

They are very similar, but they are NOT the same. A technologist develops new recipes and modifies old ones, designs machinary to make those products, and communicates more with suppliers and customers. A scientist mostly deals with finding ways to keep food fresh, make it pleasing to customers, and making sure the ingredients and finished product are of fine quality.
