the biggest difference is obviously the stroke and bore of the engine and the size of the engine
No difference. Automobile motor oil is 4 stroke oil just like the oil you use in a 4 stroke ATV. Just purchase the correct weight of any name brand. I recommend you use 100% Synthetic in any air cooled engine.
4
If it is a 2-stroke engine, 2-cycle engine oil is added to the gasoline. If the engine is 4-stroke, regular 30W motor oil is used. To tell if your engine is 2-stroke or 4-stroke, look for a spout where oil is poured into the engine. If there is no spout, then the engine is 2-stroke and 2-cycle oil must be added to the gasoline.
There is no difference between the term "motor ship" and the term "motor vessel." The two are commonly used interchangeably.
Mercury has made the 50 in both 2 cycle and 4 cycle. If it is oil injected and there is no oil that you change and no oil filter it is a 2 cycle engine where the oil is mixed with the gasoline.
difference of motor and marine insurance
You cannot mix your own 2 cycle oil. You must purchase 2 cycle oil just like you purchase 4 cycle oil.
The 2 cycle oil will be marked 2 cycle and have a mixture rating like 25 to 1 mix on the label The Four cycle oil will have a weigh or viscosity rating, 10W30 or W30 weight oil.
Both
A motor that has greater than stock displacement due to an increase in the factory crank throw. An increase in crank throw increases stroke (the difference between the piston's top dead center and bottom dead center position).
Yes, two stroke (or Two cycle) engines have oil that is mixed into the fuel to lubricate the motor's moving parts. Where as, in a 4 stroke engine the oil is separate from the fuel. When the fuel oil mix is burned in a two cycle engine more pollution is given off.
