For one, you cannot see the other students posture, facial expressions, or tone. Therefore, if you do not word your communication appropriately, the other student may be offended when there was no intent to offend. This occurs when some students try to use some humor in their statements, or attempt to give constructive criticism. The good point is that you have an individuals undivided attention. In other words, they have to read the entire statement. Thus, you can give your opinion without interference of thought. Another issue in many online courses is that communication is not instantaneous, so there is some waiting time for a response. There are always pros and cons, but the online coursework has proven to be very effective and productive overall.
Giving feedback to a student in a distance learning environment is different because you don't have body signals to rely on. You have to convey your entire message through words on a screen.
It's so easy!In correction, it is typical to use feedback in a way that shows the learner has made a mistake, but allows the learner to attempt to correct it themselves. Facial expression, body language, gesture and intonation can all be used to give this type of feedback to speaking. Correction codes are used in writing to achieve this; if learners have made a word order mistake, the teacher marks 'WO' at that point, allowing the learner to go back and correct it themselves.posted by bobomaster /pol/
difference between feedback and control
Discussing from a distance gives each contributor a chance to think about what it is they are discussing. When you are face to face you are more likely to answer before you had a chance to think it through. Face to face can also cause conflict if one person is feeling offended by another persons critique. It's much easier to take criticism through a distant discussion in order to avoid feelings of inadequacy or offense. Its easier to criticize someone in a school environment, because it is usually constructive. when you criticize people outside the learning environment, they tend to be offended
positive feedback is always benificial but regenerative feedback may or may not.

It's the intent behind the criticism/feedback. If it is meant to be constructive or to be hurtful makes a big difference.
Have an honest conversation with your classmate and politely express how their behavior is affecting you. Offer constructive feedback and suggest alternative ways for them to interact with you. If the behavior continues, consider involving a teacher or counselor for further assistance.
A positive feedback mechanism is a system the responds to perturbation in the same direction as the perturbation. A positive feedback mechanism allow cells to adapt to changes in their environment rapidly and efficiently. Positive feedback allows cells to reach new levels of equilibrium corresponding to the stimulus in the environment
Intrinsic feedback comes from within the individual, such as the feeling of accomplishment from completing a task. Extrinsic feedback is information provided by an external source, like a teacher or coach, to guide performance or skill development.
The difference between a reflex and a feedback mechanism is that the former is done without action by the brain but the latter is consciously done with feedback from the brain. A reflex is the reaction to external stimuli. Feedback to the brain can be given due to external or internal (within the body) reason.
