an interior architect designs the inside of someones home. Like the bedrooms, lounge area, bathrooms, t.v room etc. An architect designs the outside of someones house, like what the roof would look like, and window, door etc...
A simple way to explain the difference might be to say that an architect designs a structure, and a landscaping architect takes that building design and then designs the grounds around the structure. The landscape architect will determine a design that includes grading and slopes, the location of trees, shrubs and other plants, and they type and location of lighting fixtures. Planters, benches, and outdoor sculptures might be included in the design, as would fountains, pools or other landscaping device involving water or a watercourse. Solutions to the location of walkways and their proximity to the structure will be discovered. Consideration will be given to how the structure and the surroundings will be tied together, and outlooks, overlooks, vistas or other opportunities to "take in the view" will be included in the landscape architect's plan.
Interior Designing is based more on art (ex.drawing furniture, complimenting colors, and floor plans). Architecture is based more on the structure and building blocks of a room or building.
Simply, an architect designs buildings and a landscape architect designs landscaped areas such as public parks. Of course in reality there can be a bit of overlap, an architect might design the layout of a landscaped area, and a landscape architect might design some small structures in a landscape.
Ultimately they are different specialisations with different areas of knowledge.
