Pure iron or native iron is only found in the crust in the form of meteorites. To produce iron, minerals rich in iron must be processed to extract pure iron. The minerals rich in iron are called iron ores. Examples of iron ores are magnetite and hematite.

Iron Metal is a solid structure, it conducts electricity and heat. The electrons in it allow electricity to pass through it, it is an electrolyte.

Iron Oxide is a gas, it doesn't conduct electricity therefore does not let electricity pass through it. it is not an electrolyte.

Aluminum oxide contains the elements aluminum (in the form of Al3+ ions) and oxygen (in the form of O2- ions). It has the formula Al2O3. It is a transparent solid and is very strong and hard. It is the main component of rubies and sapphires.

Iron oxide contains the elements iron (in the form of Fe2+, ions Fe3+ ions, or a combination of the two) and oxygen (in the form of O2- ions) can have one of three formula. Iron III oxide is Fe2O3 Iron II oxide is FeO and Iron II, III oxide is Fe3O4. Depending on which form its is either an opaque reddish-brown or opaque black solid and is usually fairly brittle or powdery. Iron III oxide is the main component of rust.

What is the category of compounds containing carbon?

Carbon is a non-metal

Examples of ionic and covalent compounds?

Ionic compounds: NaCl, KOH, CuSO4, etc. Any compound containing a metal and a non-metal. In ionic compounds, metals have positive ions (they lose electrons to the non metal) and non-metals have negative ions (as they gain electrons from the metal) Covalent compounds: CH4, BF3, NH3, all hydrocarbons/ all compounds containing only non-metals.

What are medal compounds?

Medal compounds is not a term used in chemistry. Metal compounds on the other hand are very common. It simply means a compound containing a metal, such as iron oxide or sodium chloride.

What is the differences between petroleum and uranium?

Petroleum is a fossil fuel, containing many organic compounds; burning of petroleum release thermal energy. Uranium is a radioactive metal; fission of uranium release a great quantity of nuclear energy.

What are ionic compounds between?

Ionic compounds are between a metal ion and a non-metal ion otherwise known as a cation and anion.

Is oxidized metal organic compound?

No. Only compounds containing carbon are organic. "Oxidized metal" is merely a metal with a coating of a corresponding metal compound, usually an oxide.

An ionic compound is made of a nonmetal and a metal true or false?

It is true of binary ionic compounds but not necessarily of compounds containing polyatomic ions.

Are covalent bonds more likely to be found containing both metal and non metals or compounds containing only non metals?

Lithium is a metal, lithium grease is a a grease having lithium compounds (derivatives af fatty acids).

Describe the differences between an organic and an inorganic compound?

In general organic compounds / substances / materials contain carbon atoms bonded with other atoms and/or those related to life. It is the chemistry of carbon containing compounds. Inorganic is everything else and generally do not contain carbon (with some exceptions).

Could you explain the differences between organic and inorganic compounds?

Basically, all organic compounds have carbon and organic chemistry is the study of carbon based comounds. Inorganic generally do not contain carbon (with exceptions being carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, metal carbonates, metal bicarbonates and metal carbides).
