The difference between them is that:

Lines of latitude are horizontal lines that extend from East to West along the globe while Longitude is vertical line which runs from North to the South pole.

A latitude is the part of a set of global coordinates that indicates the number of degrees from the equator toward one of the poles, and a longitude is the other part of the coordinates which indicates the number of degrees from the prime meridian along a line of latitude. Latitudes are represented on many maps by lines going from east to west, and longitudes are represented as lines from north to south.

The mnemonic device I came up with to remember the difference is latitudes are the lines on the map that lay flat(horizontal), and longitudes are the lines that are equally long (each one extends from pole to pole).
Latitude tells how far a point is north or south of the equator.

Longitude tells you how far a point is east or west of the Prime Meridian.

With those two numbers, you can pin down the location of any point on earth

within a few inches.

Longitude and latitude are imaginary line on the globe used for reference and location purposes.

Lines of longitude are not parallel and extend between the north and south poles. 0 degrees being the prime meridian passing through Greenwich, London. They are measured in degrees east or west from this line.

Lines of latitude are parallel to the equator and are measured in degrees north and south of the equator.

(ALSO) : Longitude measure's east and west & Latitude measure's north and south of the equator. Both are imaginary line's on the globe used for reference and location purposes.

Longitude runs from pole to pole. Latitude runs perpendicular to longitude. The international date line is the prime or first degree of longitude and the equator is the prime or first degree of latitude.

Difference between latitude and longitude?

The difference between latitude and longitude is that latitude refers to a location point's distance that is either north or south of the equator and longitude refers to a specific point's distance that is either east or west of the prime meridian. The prime meridian is the longitude line that has zero degree and passes near London, United Kingdom.

What is the difference between lines of longitude and lines of latitude?

Firstly, different maps or atlases draw lines of latitude and longitude in varying degrees apart. Although most maps have differences of 10 degrees apart, atlases can be as close as 1 or 2 degrees. Secondly, you might be referring to the major lines of latitude and longitude, such as the Equator and the Prime Meridian. Some maps that are very small only show the major lines of latitude and longitude. The difference between the equator and the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn is 23.5 degrees, while the difference between the equator and the Arctic and Antarctic Circles is 66.5 degrees. The difference between the Prime Meridian and the International Date Line is 180 degrees.
