Well from a spiritual/philisophical perspective I would have to say that it is that Violet is a bit Higher Freqency & thus more agressive. While both colors are known for their healing qualities, lavender is more subtle & therefor gentler infusing into an aura. This has been my experience with the difference between purple violet & lavander.
