A babysitter basically just takes care of the children. A nanny, I believe, does alot more I think they not only take care of the children but sometimes takes care of the house and maybe even sometimes lives with a family to help the mother with the children and keeping the house up.....idk
Technically, a babysitter is a temporary child caregiver who may serve for only several hours at a time, caring for children from various families at various times. Babysitters do not have nearly the range of responsibility that a nanny has. However, a nanny is hired by a family for a particular length of time. It may range from several weeks to a number of years. Nannies who remain with a family for years may eventually be considered as part of the family. There are still live-in nannies who actually make the family's home their home--they have their own bedroom and bath or living quarters. However, possibly for financial reasons, many families in our day hire a nanny part-time for so many hours per week.

A babysitter is a person and babysitting is a job.

Depending on the age of the babysitter, and sometimes you can just ask how long will they be available to watch your kids, if you're going to be gone for a day, leave them with a relative, or hire a nanny.
The nanny tax ensures that you are paying taxes on what you are paying a nanny. This was instituted by the IRS. The nanny tax is a tax you must pay if you have a nanny or a frequenty babysitter that you have paid more than $1,700 to in total during the year 2009. At the end of the year you must provide a W2 form to your nanny where it details how much of her income went to taxes, she must then add this information to her tax return.
There was no babysitter. Casey Anthony fabricated the entire "Zanny the Nanny" story.
No not a professional nanny. A person who is a professional nanny has gone through training in child development and red cross training. At 17 you can be a babysitter and if you are truly interested in children I would suggest you begin to take classes at your local community college in child development.
