pollination is when two plants are required to make them grow whatever fruit, flower, vegetable etc. it produces. (ex. corn must cross pollinate from one plant to another or no kernels will be produced on the ear.)

fertilization is an applied or applicated, natural or man made product that is used to make a plant healthier and more productive. (the same as when people take vitamins)
