a rico royal reed can sometimes be mis-cut and give a beginner or even professional Clarinet player a horrible tone.
when starting use Michelle lurie their reeds are never mis-cut and are most certain the most efficient (that's what i started using and my tone is good i just need to blow more air XD I'm eh i guess a hairline between beginner and intermediate clarinetist so take my advice) when i was about ending 6th grade (my first year playing) my director said to start using vandoran Paris reed now this year i am using vandoran 3's in hope i can progress well as an musician :DD
i hope this helped some people thanks :DDDD
oboes are double reeded instruments whereas clarinets use single reeds

Hard bassoon reeds are harder to control the embouchure and tone with, thus need incredible skills to master. Beginner and intermediate players should NOT used these types of reeds. Softer ones can also pose the same problem but in the inverse effect. Try medium-grade reeds, and also go to a professional bassoonist or your private instructor for more advice.
Ah! The difference is the scrape shape. In America the reeds are scraped all the way down to the string, whereas in England they are scraped 1/3 -1/2 down. In America the only shape used is a "W" shape, in England they use both the "U" and the "W" shape.
