Roots are the main part of a word that gives it its core meaning. Prefixes are added at the beginning of a word to modify its meaning, while suffixes are added to the end of a word to indicate a condition, disease, or procedure. Understanding roots, prefixes, and suffixes helps in breaking down and interpreting medical terms.
