In his comedies the characters are all put into situations that they could not imagine themselves in and have no way of dealing with the situation so chaos ensues. But in the end all is fixed and everyone is fine and there's usually a wedding. In tragedies chaos insues because of a combination of external and internal conflicts within the main character and they do everything they can to avoid the inevitable, but in the end all their fighting to stay alive ultimately leads to their destruction.
