Prominence are huge loops of gas that connect different parts of sunspot regions. A solar flare is an explosion caused by hydrogen getting really hot, the gas shoots out into space causing a solar flare.

The flare is an eruption.

The prominence is the matter that shoots up from the surface of the sun due to the eruption.

The solar wind is a stream of charged particles continuously released from the upper atmosphere (not only during eruptions) of the Sun. It mostly consists of electrons and protons with energies usually between 1.5 and 10 keV. The stream of particles varies in temperature and speed over time.

Flares form closer to earth and are caused by large supervolcanoes on the sun. Prominence is caused by a diference in manetic forces in the plasma.

Protuberance or Solar Flare.

Is a solar flare stronger than a solar prominence?

Yes but it's hard to say

What is the sun's prominience?

A prominence is when a solar flare ejects matter from the suns surface as a stream of incandescent gas.

What is the difference between Solar flares and Solar Prominence?

Solar Prominence: The part of the sun that erupts and shoots out for thousands of kilometers and back again forming ribbon shaped clouds. Solar Flare: The part of the sun that erupts and shoots out from the surface of the sun for thousands of kilometers.

What are gases near a sunspot that suddenly shooting gas outward at high speeds?

Solar flares. Don't get it mixed up with prominence, because prominence is a huge, arching column of gas. And you defined what a solar flare is above:)

What is an arched eruption of gas from the sun's surface?

An eruption of gas in an arc or loop from the solar surface is called a prominence, which is often tied to a brightening of the Sun or "solar flare."

Describe the difference between a solar flare and a solar prominence which affects us and how?

The difference between a solar flare and a solar prominence is that a solar flare emits charged partials, which travel to the Earth. Solar prominence are large sheets that burst out from the Sun that last for days or even weeks and can grow up to 400000km high. A solar flare affects us by emitting charged partials to the Earth. When the partials hit the Earth the Earth's magnetic field forces them to the North and South poles. As this happens it produces an electrical effect in the Earth's atmosphere that interferes with transmission of radio waves. This is why many communities in the far North lose radio communication for many days at a time.It took my a very long time to figure this out. if you are doing this for a science isu in grade 9 them it is on page 453 on the bottom left of the sun diagram.

What were the most explosive events to occur on the sun?

Solar flares
