It simple. They are absolutely and totally different. We are talking about two totally different historical periods separated by more than 2,000 years, totally different societies, economies, political institutions and cultures. The Roman Republic was around in in the ancient days.
the u.s. can: •vote • has a senate as the roman republic did too
The United States has three branches of government and so did the Roman Republic. One big difference is, the Roman Republic could appoint a dictator in times of crises. This is something the US cannot do.
The primary difference is that anyone born on US soil is considered a citizen, while in Rome only adult males were. The two republics actually have little in common except the name of the form of government. The Roman culture and concerns were different from ours.
The UK is a monarchy and the US is a republic.
Temporary dictatorship
Boys Roman names normally end in 'us', eg Juli-us Caesar. Girls Roman names end in an 'a', eg Daniell-a.
the roman republic
One political party held power for decades
The ancient Roman republic in general terms fits the description of a republic in the following ways: 1. A balance of power between the Senate and the Assembly is the center of what defines a republic; 2. Elections were held to fill important official positions; 3. The Roman republic had checks and balances through the election of consuls and Tribunes;and 4. Written laws created what is termed a government of laws not of men.
the roman republic was a good source of inspiration because the =y were the one in lead and the roman got inspired by them.
