Obvious differences: They used the symbol of a RED star; we used the WHITE star symbol. Both nations had the letters US to begin the title of their country. Both nations geographically extended to both the Atlantic & Pacific Oceans. Both nations experienced frontier movements: US citizens "went west", Soviet citizens explored "east" (Siberia). Opposite Governments: They believed that SOCIETY came first. We believed that INDIVIDUALS came first. The first ten amendments of the US Constitution's "Bill of Rights" are individual freedoms. They are not to protect a group of people (a society); they are to protect each and every single individual United States Human Being.

The USSR believed in socialist ways of living for their citizens. The US believed in individualism for its citizens.

The US is the United States

The USSR is the Soviet Union

Both of these had already gone into a war, called the Cold War, because both believed in opposite ideological views communism and capitalism. They also believed in different political views democracy, and communism. The US wanted individual richness for all citizens, while the USSR (soviet union) wanted all goods to belong to the government, so all citizens relied on the government's will to live a rich life. This was called the cold war because it was never fought physically, using Propaganda, and making each other look bad. There was also a technological issue concerning nuclear bombs. With some research this question can much more detailed, there are many books and websites that give this information. Good luck!

Answer 1

The Soviet Union was made up of many countries under a communist rule including Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, and many others. The Soviet Union collapsed completely after the fall of the Berlin Wall and then split into the many countries surrounding Russia that we have today, Russia being the largest.

Answer 2

Previous answer is totally wrong. The correct answer is:

Before the socialistic revolution, in Russian Empire were Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland as huge autonomy territories. They become Russian territories after some European wars (with Sweden especially etc).

Sometime in Russian Empire was Poland.

Answer 3

There were all caucasian and Asian territories in Russia (Georgia, Armenia, they are very ancient nation,...). Georgia especially because Russian tzars saved them from Turkey nation (Saakashvili is totally USA project, he is a traitor of his people and the traitor of Russia, because we always had close and very good relationships between Russia and Georgia).

There wasn't the country called Ukraine before 1991 finally. At first there were eastern-slavic tribes. Then they become a nation called Rus' with capital in Novgorod (862-882). Then the prince of Novgorod (a tzar) come in Kiev and made it the capital of Russia. He created the nation called Kiev's Russia (882-1240). In 1240 Mongolians destroy Kiev. Then, the capital was moved into Novgorod back, etc...

We always were the same people - Russians (Belarussia, Ukraina and Russia).

Soviet Russia gives the independence to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Poland for western countries armies can't go through them in USSR. USSR give Alaska to America.

USSR can't give independence to Ukraina and Belarussia because there were no those countries, we were the MAIN AND INDIVISIBLE part of Russian Empire.

Some territories become Russians back after the World War II (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia). These countries were our enemies, and were enemies of Poland during WWII.

So the difference not in territories, but just in political organisation.
