The difference between Eau de Perfume(EDP) and Eau de toilet(EDT) in concentration issue. Most of Women's Perfume comes in EDP while Men's perfume comes in EDT Form. The EDT mostly contain 5-10 Pure Oil and incenses(Bottle100Ml-3.4Oz) ,while EDP mostly contain 10-20 pure oil and incenses for the same size. Concentration means in other word longevity of the perfume .Good EDT last for 4-6 Hours while EDP 6-12 Hours. Both EDT and EDP longevity depend on many different factors like quality of the Oil, nature of the skin and their color at last weather.

The concentration of the oils. Eau de Toilette is far less perfume concentrates than perfume. Perfume can have 15-40% perfume concentrates while Eau de toilette has only 1-6% perfume concentrates. The scent is therefor a lot lighter and doesn't last as long in the Eau de toilette than in the perfume.

toilette perfumes are water based, so they deliver a much lighter fresh smell. they do not last as long but they dont feel soo heavy as some people like this effect. parfume is oil based and it gives a heavier long lasting smelll. it is a stronger scent

Higher concentrations of perfume have more perfume oils and less alcohol, which contributes to the scent's durability. Eau De Toilette concentrations typically range from 8 to 12 percent, whereas Eau de Parfum concentrations range from 12 to 18 percent.

Can you make eau de toilette from pure perfume?

The difference between eau de toilette and perfume is dilution: a perfume contains up to 40 percent essential oil plus 60 percent carrier (normally ethanol plus water) and eau de toilette is 5 to 15 percent essential oil. So...if you want to make a 5-percent eau de toilette out of a 30-percent perfume, mix one part perfume into five parts 100-proof vodka and you'll have it.

What is the difference between coty wild musk oil and coty wild musk oil perfume?

There are 3 basic types of fragrance which are really just 3 different levels of potency. Oil is the strongest, also called essence. eau de parfum is the next strongest which is what good perfume is. The weakest is eau de toilette. Personally I stay away from eau de toilette because it wears off quickly and you have to use more of it.

What is the difference between eau de parfum and eau fraiche?

There is only a slight difference between eau de parfum and eau fraiche. Eau fraiche contains 3% or less of the perfume oil, while eau de parfum contains 8-15% perfume oil.

What is the difference between eau de cologne and eau de toilette?

Answer 1Answer 2Eau de Cologne (EdC)Eau de Cologne is a local trademark for "Kölnisch Wasser" Cologne, Germany.EdC is the term used today to refer to a perfume solution with ~ 3%-5% essential oils in an alcohol and water base.Eau de Toilette (EdT)~ 6-10% essential oils in an alcohol and water base. The differences are simply a matter of the amount or concentration of oils in the fragrance. These oils are called "juice." The highest concentration of "juice" is in perfume (or parfum). Next would be Eau de Parfum, then Eau de Toilette, and finally Eau de Cologne. After Shave has the least amount of oils. The higher the concentration of "juice" the longer your fragrance will last, and the less you need to apply.

What Type of Perfume is Best for You?

When shopping for perfume, it is a good idea to understand the different terms that are used in regards to fragrance. Pure perfume is a higher concentration of scent and lasts for a long time on the skin. It is generally more expensive, but you use less on a daily basis. Eau de toilette contains a less concentrated amount of fragrance oil, but fades more quickly. What type you need depends on how you plan to use your perfume.

If a French perfume is called an extrait or extract on the label what is the equivalent term for the American perfume market?

Extrait de parfum, or extract, is often referred to in English as parfum or pure perfume. This is the highest concentration of perfume that is available for commercial sale in Europe/North America. For example, Chanel seems to label its extrait bottles in English as "perfume," and the lesser concentrations as eau de parfum, eau de toilette, and eau de cologne (in decreasing order of concentration)."Pure perfume" doesn't actually mean that the liquid is 100% perfume oil; it's probably about 25-30% perfume oil in a solution of denatured alcohol, water, or a combination of the two. 100% perfume oil is generally not available for sale in Europe and North America.Check out "Perfumes: The Guide" by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez for more information.
