Plant water potential  w (psi) is a measure of physical(thermo - dynamic), the free energy expression of the amountof water (J mol-1), and accordingly the ability to perform work.

The chemical potential of water μw is a relative value, expressed the free energy difference (J mol-1) between the chemical potential of water in a given biological (eg leaf) anddistilled water potential found in the same temperature andatmospheric pressure as a biological system.

The chemical potential μ of distilled water * w is the maximum chemical potential of water in the plant and in an agreed value is set to 0. Presence of solvent water, or the existence of water stress reducing advice in the chemicalpotential of water and therefore, the chemical potential ofwater in solution or in the sacrum has a negative value.

Water movement will take place spontaneously (without theneed to invest energy) from which the chemical potential ofwater is higher where the chemical potential of water is lower.

What can be converted to energy?

Anything with potential difference could create the flow of energy. A potential difference could be electropotential, chemical potential or potential difference between high and low ground like energy from water fall. A potential difference can exist in the form of motion difference between a stationary and a moving objects.

What is one difference between water and iron?

Water (H2O) is a chemical compound and iron (Fe) is a chemical element.

What causes potential difference?

A potential difference causes an electric current. Think of it like a river : the source of water is the most elevated point of the river, so the water has a lot of gravitational potential energy. The end of the river is the lowest point of it, so the water has very low gravitational potential energy. What happens between these two points? Water flows! This analogy can be applied to electricity; the potential difference is caused, for example, by a battery in an electric circuit.

What is the difference between liquid chlorine for pools and for drinking water?

beacause chlorine is a chemical used to clean water

How do you tell the difference between water and acetic acid?

Water has the chemical formula H2O. Acetic acid has the formula CH3COOH.

Does water have more chemical potential energy that octane?

No.

The driving force for the movement of materials in the phloem of plants is what?

a difference in osmotic water potential between the source and the sink

Difference between a pysical change and a chemical change?

Chemical change changes the electrons of matter, a physical change does not. Water is water as ice, water and steam, this is a change of state but physically there is no change of water it is a change of the energy content of water.

What substance acts as the store of chemical potential energy in plants?

water

What is the difference between a chemical formula and chemical equation?

A chemical formula is just one molecule. For example, the chemical formula for water is H2O. The chemical formula for ammonia is NH3 A chemical equation contains reactants and products, which are molecules or groups of molecules. For example, what is the chemical equation for the formation of water. 2H2 + O2 ---> 2H2O

Explain the difference between mechanical and chemical weathering?

In chemical weathering, there is a chemical reaction that causes weathering. Mechanical weathering is caused by fire, abrasions of water along a surface, animals, or freezing and thawing.

What is difference between acrylic emulsion and plastic emulsion?

Acrylic is chemical based resin whereas plastic emulsion is water based.
