Can't tell because you haven't given the whole tire number. - -
- My van tires are - - P215/65R15 95H. -That last number and letter are performance and load rating
- That P means it's a passenger vehicle tire,
- 215 is tread width in millimeters,
- 65 is the aspect ratio, it's a wide oval. ( 75 means it's rounder in cross section)
- R means it's a Radial
- 15 means it fits a 15" rim.
- 95 -is it's load range, and in the ISO/Metric Standards list '95' means each tire can support 1500 pounds weight.
- H - The final letter is it's 'speed rating' , and again in the ISO/metric system, 'H' means it's rated at speeds up to 130 mph.
10 cm of tread width is thee difference

Yes, you can mount 225-60r16 tires on a rim made for 215-65r16 tires.
Yes, 225, can substitute 215 since it is width of a tire and doesn't play huge role. Also, because we are only talking about tiny difference.Know that even though you are only talking about a small difference in diameter your speedometer will be off. Another replacement would be a 225/50-18.Stock Tire - 215/55R18 |>Search Tires Tire 1 - 225/55R18Section Width: 8.46 in 215 mm |Section Width: 8.85 in 225 mmActual Speed: 60 mph 100 km/h |Speedometer1: 59.0 mph 98.4 km/hSpeedometer Difference: 0 |Speedometer Difference: 1.573% too slowDiameter Difference: 0 |Diameter Difference: 1.56%-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->Search Tires Tire 2 - 225/50R18 |>Search Tires Tire 3 - 235/50R18Section Width: 8.85 in 225 mm |Section Width: 9.25 in 235 mmSpeedometer1: 61.0 mph 101. km/h |Speedometer1: 60.1 mph 100. km/hSpeedo Difference: 1.706% too fast |Speedo Difference: 0.223% too fastDiameter Difference: 1.69% |Diameter Difference: 0.22%

No you should not you use 225/75-16 on a car that came with 215/65-16. This is a 7.79% difference in diameter which is never recommended. You should never go over 3% difference. Your speedometer will read 55.3 at a true 60 mph. Your handling, braking, ride, and performance will suffer with this size. There is no 75 series tire that will work well on this vehicle. You can however switch to a 195/70-16 if you are determined to go with a different series tire. I would recommend you stick with the OEM size.
