Spartas Strength is the Military, when the boys are first born they put them outside for a night with no food or water and if they lived the were strong and made to be a Warrior for sparta. The Spartans focused on their military and the Athens were more foucused on their Acedemics and worked on military too.

The difference is that they were in a war, of couse one lost and one won. Can you guess which one lost? a. Spartas b. Athens If you said Athens, you are correct. The athens ruled for many years. Then Sparta came and kicked their butts in the war! AncientGreekGirl :)
Spartans are from Sparta and Athens are from Athen. Plus, Athens was just a city-state, whereas Sparta is an entire different nationality.

The Spartans were stronger, but Athens had a better trained army... I think. The Spartans were the "Navy Seals" of the Greek states. Roughest and toughest soldiers by far. But Athens was the best naval power of Greece.
