Hair can fall out for a number of reasons. It could be a genetic issue, in my family white hair is very common starting at a young age. If you feel that your loosing to much hair, or notice spots that are balding, its a good idea you see a doctor.

One of the main reasons hair falls out due to health issues is Malnutrition, or Anemia, there are supplements to take and simple blood work done. Hair generally doesn't fall out due to cancer, but the treatment cancer brings. It is also natural to loose hair and have it thin out in summer or hotter months, its kinda a mammal thing. A nice trick is to trim hair and get most of the dead ends off, use a super moisturized shampoo and conditioner set, (remember, you get what you pay for!) and take vitamin E liquid tablets. :)

One disease, Alopecia , is the complete loss of body hair. The exact cause is not know. Some people who have suffered brain trauma suffer from Alopecia.

Cancer does not make you lose your hair, but the treatments for it do (chemotherapy and radiation). I'm not sure which treatment makes your hair fall out, or if it's both.

Genetics can also cause your hair to fall out.

Cancer itself does not cause hair loss. The drugs used in the treatment of cancer can cause hair loss. Very intense chemotherapy usually causes hair loss because the chemotherapy effects any fast growing cells and both cancer and many cells in the body fall into that category. Hair is always growing so those cells are temporarily destroyed.
