Cities in the UK are officially divided into subdivisions known as wards, which correspond to groups of neighbourhoods atypically.
In Birmingham, these wards are grouped together in what is known as a council constituency, which are informally referred to as 'districts.'
It is important to note that city status in the United Kingdom is awarded to local government areas, rather than to single settlements in many cases, so for example, the City of Leeds comprises the Leeds settlement, and a series of other towns such as Otley, Pudsey and Wetherby which are not contiguous with the main settlement.
In the latter case, the city is still split into wards, but some towns in Leeds are also part of something called a civil parish. This allows them to be titled as a 'town' within a local government district that may be designated as a "city."
Anglia UK has many different towns and cities. Some of the main urban cities include Peterborough, Norwich, and Cambridge. Smaller towns such as Ely and Lowestoft are also scattered around in the area.
London, Liverpool, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, and Glasgow are some cities in the UK.
London, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham are all major cities in the UK. Also Bristol and Sheffield are major cities as well.
