I'm not a mechanic / technician but I have read other similar questions
where someone has changed their automatic Transmission Fluid and found
a plastic thing in the pan ( another contributor said that it was used to plug
the transmission fluid dipstick hole , when the vehicle was manufactured , and
when the dipstick tube was installed the plastic was pushed into the pan )
It also would indicate that it is the first time the transmission pan has been
removed ( although in my case , I have had new fluid pumped in while the old
fluid was pumped out , a couple of times , so the pan has never been off )
If it wasn't all you have is a blob.
Plastic can be shaped through various processes like injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and extrusion. These processes involve heating the plastic material until it becomes molten, then forcing it into a specific mold or shape, and allowing it to cool and solidify into the desired form.

To create a custom-shaped object using moldable plastic sheet, you can heat the plastic sheet until it becomes pliable, then mold it into the desired shape using your hands or a mold. Allow the plastic to cool and harden to maintain the shape.

Plastic thermoforming is a manufacturing process whereby a sheet of plastic is heated to a point where it is pliable, shaped to form an object and trimmed to form a useful product. Due to the plastic that is cut off or left over after the product is shaped, many production lines recycle the scraps to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
