(by car) enter departing city, state and enter the same for the arriving city. click on (Get Directions) the number of miles, the route options, driving time and directions are all shown It depends ALOT upon the routes you choose to take, the season you're going, road traffic, road repairs, the kind of highway you want to travel, if you have air-conditioning / heating, and if most of your driving will be daytime or nighttime. I'd also consider the condition of my car. I've had a flat tire the high desert at 3 am, no cell-phone, i am a woman, and the lug-nuts were rusted on, - bummer. It's times like that when I wish I had been on I-5. No matter what take twice the amount of water you think you'll want.
