One of the most basic duties of a store officer is to know the inventory thoroughly. Store officers make sure that a store does not run out of any wares and does not have an unnecessary abundance of any merchandise. Most store officers order new inventory when an item begins to run low.
The store officer takes care of getting inventory to where it needs to go. In larger stores, an officer might direct stock boys to move the merchandise around the store. However, in smaller stores, the store officer may move these items around himself.
