Why does the leaning tower of pisa lean?

The Leaning Tower Of Pisa was built on unsteady soil, which made it lean shortly after it's constructionThe foundation was off so when it was built it leaned to a side. They dug the foundation 10 feet down, but didn't reach bedrock, and therefore did not have a stable footing. It leans approximately 0.2 more each year. As of the current, it leans about 17 feet now.The Leaning Tower of Pisa is leaning because when they first built it the floor wasn't stable and the bottom of the building collapsed. Hope this answered your question:)The Tower of Pisa began leaning shortly after its construction. The undersized foundation was improperly laid and the substrate on which that foundation was set down did not properly support it. The ground shifted and the tower began to lean and also to settle, and this was after the foundation was laid and the first three floors were erected. This was before the year 1200, and the tower still stands (but with help). Wikipedia has more information, and a link to their post can be found below. The tower's tilt began during construction, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure's weight. The tilt increased in the decades before the structure was completed, and gradually increased until the structure was stabilized (and the tilt partially corrected) by efforts in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. It started to slant when it was only half way built, as it is built on soft sand. For its entire life it has been maintained at a slant as a curiosity and tourist attraction.Because it was built on soft ground that squished a bit under the weight of the tower. It's leaning b/c one side squished more than the other.Because it's built partially on soft ground, and the weight of the structure is causing one side to sink - therefore it leans. The tower began to sink after construction had progressed to the third floor in 1178. This was due to a mere three-meter foundation, set in weak, unstable subsoil, a design that was flawed from the beginning.Tower of Pisa leans sideways because it was built on unstable soil. In 1173 construction started on the 180-foot bell tower, which is located in Pisa, a small town in the Italian province of Tuscany. The building began to lean as soon as the first three floors were completed. Nevertheless, building continued and the seven-story structure was finished between 1360 and 1370. The tower leans a little bit more each year and was closed for repairs in 1990, when it was leaning fourteen and one-half feet to one side. Engineers worked to stabilize the foundation, straightening the tower only slightly to help prevent irreparable damage without taking away the uniqueness of the structure.er's characteristic angle has attracted thousands of visitors to Pisa throught ages.............................................................................The Tower of Pisa leans sideways because it was built on unstable soil. Engineers worked to stabilize the foundation, straightening the tower only slightly to help prevent irreparable damage without taking away the uniqueness of the structure. The tower's characteristic angle has attracted thousands of visitors to Pisa throughout the agesThe leaning tower of pisa's leaning was due to not having a sturdy foundation. If you want more information go to Wikipedia and type in the leaning tower of pisa. they've got exact weight, height, everything. (just about everything)The foundation on a soft soil made the Tower of Pisa to lean.Since the soil that the tower was built on was soft it caused one side of the eaning tower to sink a few feet into the ground causing it to lean the way it still does today. The leaning tower of Pisa is not straight because it was built on soft sand. The weight of the tower made it lean.It was built on clay, not stone. Therefore the foundations move with the clay. One day the tower will fall.Something went wrong in the construction ( It was built on unsteady soil )The leaning tower of Pisa was leaning southwest from its vertical location due to its poorly laid foundation and the soil beneth which is saturated with water due to high underground water levels. Due to the weight of the tower all the water beneath squeezed out of its location due to the porous nature of soil, hence the tower is leaning..the ground it was built on has began to erode and wash away and is creating a void and the weight of the tower leans filling this voidThe towers tilt wasn't intentional , the construction happened in 1173. When it was constructed the weight started to gain, and because it was on soft/inadequate soil it caused the tower to tilt. Leaving it in unsafe conditions-Fariabecause the architects messed up and put it on ground that is to softThe Leaning Tower of Pisa leans due to the stability of the ground it was built on.Because of the ground it was built on. When the first three stories were built, the structure started to sink in at one side. Construction was halted for 100 years, which allowed the ground to settle and harden. The ground later supported four more stories when they were added to the tower. If the tower had been built in one go, it would have collapsed. Its foundations are weak and the tower suffered some subsidence. Some supports are in place but the tower is still sinking. When the Leaning Tower of Pisa was built, one of the sides was built on more fragile soil, so as they began constructing it, it started sinking into the ground. Now they keep a lot of weights on the stronger side to counterbalance the structure so it doesn't fall over.
