Wherever God has placed you is your place in the cosmos:On Earth, in a country, within a region and a city or town, and in a home; whichever home God has put you in - this is your place in the universe, a place where you can grow, learn, experience, enjoy, laugh, cry, observe, wonder and question. To be a human being is a wonderful thing. Sit for a moment, with the sound of a beautiful song, and the view of something really nice, and just contemplate for a moment who and what you are and what God might want you to do, in order to live a truly wonderful and fulfilling life!
Not intending to sound flippant, our place in the universe is right where we happen to be. We are explorers by nature, and if we can keep from destroying each other we will figure out how to explore farther and farther out, into the solar system, the Milky Way, and beyond.
An analogy that best describes the relationship between the Earth and the Universe is: the Earth fits into the Universe as a grain of sand fits into the beach.
In other words the Earth is a pretty small and insignificant part of the Universe. The only distinction that perhaps makes the Earth important is that it contains the only living life we know of.
However, considering statistics and probability, the uniqueness of life on Earth may not be so unique. When and if the James Webb telescope sees 1st light, it will be using a mirror that is about 7 times the size the Hubble's mirror giving a better resolution-seeing ability.
Hubble viewing data allows astronomer to guess there are about +200 billion galaxies. One can presume that there will be a 7 fold increase in this estimate.
If we assume that there is one star with planet that has some kind of life on it then it safe to assume we are not alone in the Universe. What educated guesstimate a person might use to estimate the probability of intelligent life is open to being defined. What becomes the major issue of any intelligent life communicating with other intelligent life are the great distances with in and between galaxies. Just imagine communicating with smoke signals across the ocean.
Returning to the significance of a grain of sand on a beach, imagine the relationship of a grain of sand on a beach in Florida to its counterpart's on a beach in France to a beach in Hawaii to that of a grain of sand in the Marianas trench, the deepest part of the Ocean on our planet. If you are able to follow the logic and significance than you will have some sort of understand how the Earth fits into the UNIVERSE.
The "uni" part of "universe" means "one". We're not aware of any other universes; this is the only one we know of.
It's true that some scientists and SF writers postulate a "multi-verse", with other separate universes in which the basic physical "laws" are different. In some mathematical analogues of our universe, the math is easier if we assume that there are 12 separate physical dimensions, where we can experience only three. But even the scientists who accept that there may be other alternate dimensions do not believe that it will be possible to directly see those other dimensions in any way.
Earth is the third planet and our galaxy is in the milky way.

Earth was the center of the universe
The geocentric modelof the universe stated that the earth was at the centre of the universe.
1 billion Earths
he Earth-centered Universe was proposed by Aristotle and Ptolemy.
Hell yes! It's scientifically proven he is the fittest man on earth. UNIVERSE :)
The universe then the sun then the earth:)
Universe
No, because there is no universe that begins with Earth.
The universe's shape is unknown, therefore we cannot tell where the earth is. but compared the the universe the earth is a tiny tiny speck
This model of the universe placed the Earth at the center of the universe
It is the Universe that expanded, not specifically the Earth. Earth was formed much later than the Big Bang. According to Aristotle the Universe is a sphere and Earth is at the centre.
Copernicus suggested a heliocentric model of the universe. Meaning, the earth was the centre of the universe and other planets had to orbit around the earth. This model of the universe was against Ptolemy's model of a geocentric model; a stationary Earth at the centre of the universe.
Universe >> Milky Way galaxy >> Solar System > Sun >> Earth
Yes. The universe is everything. It contains Earth, the moon, the planets and all of the stars. Compared to the size of the universe, Earth is not even a mote of dust.
