Remove the doors and side windows, roll up the rear window.
pull the back part out from the rail and release the tensioners inside by the windows you removed.
pull on the bows ( front toward the back or back toward the front until a little slack is in the top and pull the front out of the grove in the windshield.
now push the rear bows forward till they meet the fromt ones and fold the top back so it matches the tub, and tuck the rest of the top inside.
You are ready to go.
Check out the video link I provided, it will help.
The instructions are for a TJ, but it is pretty close.
No, Jeeps changed from the YJ body style to the TJ body in 97, the tops are not interchangeable.
pull up on them
the soft top latches in those holes
nope, you have to remove the hard top first.
no, 87-95 soft tops will though
pull the window out of the rails on the bottom, then unzip it, you can do it the other way but its more difficult.
TJ's are probably the easiest, remove the soft top completely, ( unbuckle top from windshield rail, and remove bows from rollbar with torx wrench ) remove the door surrounds ( if you have solid doors, tork bolts from the top through the rollbar ) remove the rails at the back that hold your rear window, and slap that hard top on there, it buckles down in the front just like your soft top, and there are bolt holes where the top meets the sides to secure it to the vehicle, I do this several times a year, easy as pie.
No, Wrangler x is a stretched out version of a Wrangler, the top is longer.

It may be easiest to remove panel by panel and lightly scrub with a soft brush and soapy water.
