Well there would be lots of words that would be translating to "to eats" from Spanish. If you meant commas, well the general rule of thumb is more that two commas in a sentence and you are boned. The easiest way to fix a sentence with too many commas is to simply change one of them to a period. I'm an English professor so I know what I am talking about. No. However it is possible to construct very long and complex sentences using correct syntax.
Long sentences can help convey complex ideas and relationships between them. They can also create a sense of rhythm, build suspense, or emphasize a point by drawing out the idea. However, using long sentences too frequently can make the writing dense and difficult to read.
They can become boring, complicated and confusing. If verbal, listeners will loose interest and hope to interrupt. If written, the point of the description may be lost by an over abundance of information. Keep sentences short and sweet whenever you can
Using short and long sentences together creates a choppy rhythm that increases tension in the reader.
they make it seem as if time within the story has slowed.
No it depends how long the sentences are. If they're using lots of conjunctions (and, or, yet, but, so, because, for, nor, etc.), or semicolons (;), then yes it is too long, but other than that, i don't believe so.
Short sentences. Are a sign of someone. Not being able. To comprehend the complications. Of longer sentences. I am struggling. To write. My sentences this long. As it is. Very difficult to understand.
Long sentences can convey complex ideas and provide detailed explanations, but may risk losing the reader's attention. Short sentences are more direct and impactful, making information easier to digest and enhancing readability. Mixing both can create a dynamic flow that engages the reader effectively.
Short words make the writing move faster. Short sentences make it move faster, too. Action scenes need to move quickly. When you have a long sentence, with many long words and perhaps unfamiliar phrases or idioms, the reader slows down to make sure he or she is not missing anything, and this slows down the action.See what I mean?
