Supplies current for guages etc. It is just a replacement for wiring in confined spaces.
There is a circuit board on the back of the cluster.
electronic pedal or power control
The electronic control module is located behind the right side of the dash board
because your speed gas ect. is all digital. the warning lights are not. your circuit board on the back of the cluster is probably fried.
I had the same problem. What is happening is that the main circuit board for the instrument cluster is defective. The only way to fix the problem is to have the entire circuit board replaced.
the connections to the dash flexible printed circuit board are problematic and so are the bulb holders. Its back lit by a row of ordinary bulbs not high tech l.e.d or cold cathode. very common and easily fixed by removing speakers and pulling off dash top then removing the torx screws to remove display unit. bulb holders and connectors are underneath display check also for breaks in the flexible circuit board. see renaultforums.co.uk for a thread which shows how to do this, with photos!!
a digital cluster is the same as a circuit board. you need to replace that borad
It is located behind the dase plate at the steering wheel.
The computer has set a code that will have to do with the electronic throttle system. Have it checked for codes with a scanner.
Pull the light switch to the "on" position, then reach up behind the dash board to the back of the headlight switch, which isn't very far up the back of the dash board, feel around on the switch for a spring loaded button on the switch body, push the sring loaded button and pull the switch shaft out. After the switch shaft is out, there is a flat nut with slots cut on the front of it on the outside of the dash holding the switch to the dash board, turn the flat nut CCW to remove the nut. This should release the switch from the dash board, pull switch from the back of the dash, unplug switch.Replace in reverse order.
I would imagine that there is a short circuit or a Parasitic drain on air con circuit. Often air con is ran automatically and wiring would be linked to ignition circuit. SDS
The warning icons, Yes. The back-lighting, no.
