Yes it is if you like animals and like cameras and like taking pictures then yes it is a good job for you. You get lots of money for taking pictures of what your boss wants.

That depends on your own personality and ability to be a go-getter. There are some public service and company photographer jobs, probably not hugely paid, but the world's your oyster if you have just that extra zing that puts you above all the other eager photographers who are competing for work. You have to be prepared to work at unsociable hours (think paparazzi) or in dangerous places (think war photographer). As with many occupations, it's who you know, not what you know.
