Nitrogen and sulphur oxides are poisonous gases which are released from vehicles and industries.

They are poisonous and cause breathing problems and other respiratory problems.

Not only this, these gases are most commonly referred air pollutants.

Nitrogen oxides are among the few ozone depletors.

What effect does bubbling nitrogen dioxide through water have on the reaction rate?

Generally speaking, reaction rate increases as concentration increases. If N2O5 is a reactant in a chemical reaction, a greater concentration of it means it will react more quickly. This is because there is more of that reactant available for the reaction.

Does argon put out a lighted splint and has no effect on limewater?

Nitrogen, A splint needs oxygen, Nitrogen has none. Doesnt affect Limewater as far as im aware, that's Carbon Dioxide. Hope this helps!

What colorless odorless tasteless gas that you breathe in?

Oxygen (O2) from the atmosphere. However we also breath in (inhale) nitrogen. but nitrogen does not have any known effect on humans , and so in exhales also as nitrogen. We also breath in traces of other gases, such as the noble (inert) gases except Carbon dioxide. We exhale (breath out) carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is required in the lungs to maintain a breathing rate. If no CO2 was present in the lungs we would probably pant, or breath in an uncontrolable way.

Why do raisins dance in carbon dioxide?

The bubbles of carbon dioxide produce a buoyancy effect.

What are the effects of too much nitrogen in a body of water?

Nitrogen has no effect on water although it can be dissolved. Nitrogen is not hazardous in itself, and in water is not dangerous. However as your body has no use for it when breathed, it can asphyxiate. But in water it has no effect on large biological organisms. High nitrogen content can cause algal blooms in surface areas of water. However, nitrogen can be processed into nitrates by bacteria which can kill fish. Excess nitrogen is removed by humans through urea.

Why nitrogen preferred over carbon dioxide as propellant in DCP fire fighting system?

Carbon dioxide is a pollutant. Nitrogen is used by the plants. When you use carbon dioxide as a propellant,it adds more pollution or makes greenhouse effect worse....

What greenhouse gases appear to be responsible for the enhancement of the earth's greenhouse effect?

Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxide, chloroflourocarbons

Why do nitrogen and oxygen do not cause the greenhouse effect?

Nitrogen and oxygen are not greenhouse gases. They are unable to trap and store heat. 3-atom gases like carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane store this heat and cause the greenhouse effect.
