Poor insulation in homes means that heat and cold can move quickly through the walls and roofs of the building. So people have to use more power, pay more for their heating and cooling bills and add more greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. This is bad for the environment as it contributes to global warming.

Blame the builders and contractors. They are making the walls not thick enough to accommodate the proper insulation, if they install any insulation at all. A little tuft here and there satisfies the inspectors. YOU pay for it when it's not there, and you pay again when your heating and cooling bill comes every month.
