Biodiesel is replenishable where fossil fuels aren't. Biodiesel is made from biomass such as corn, rapeseed, sugarcane and even algae. The CO2 produced from burning biodiesel is indirectly reabsorbed by the plants that will make the next batch of biodiesel. Fossil fuels just release CO2.

Biodiesel contains carbon that was recently present in the atmosphere rather than fossil-fuel carbon that was in the atmosphere long ago and has been sequestered beneath Earth's surface. Hence the burning of biodiesel does not contribute to a net increase in the amount of carbon dioxide currently circulating in the atmosphere, whereas the burning of fossil fuel does contribute to a net increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
ANSWER:Normal diesel fuel should not be burned in a kerosene heater, because there are many more contaminants in it, such as sulfur. A 100% solution of Biodiesel will not work because it requires a much higher initial temperature (300F) to burn cleanly. Blends of these fuels with kerosene can be burned, but there may be problems with the fuel soaking up the wick properly in the case of Biodiesel, which can lead to wick burning and sooting. There may also be problems lighting and burning properly if the blend contains too much of the Biodiesel, as its flash point is higher than kerosene. Diesel/Biodiesel fuel can also be run in many forced air heaters along with kerosene.

Burning of fossil fuels is an oxidation reaction.
biodiesel = el biodiésel
The general equation for burning/combusting fossil fuels is:- fossil fuel + oxygen(air) = Carbon dioxide and Water.
Yes it is safe to mix petroleum diesel and biodiesel. Blends of biodiesel and petroleum diesel are designated "BX." Where "B" states that the fuel mixture is a biodiesel blend and "X" indicates the percentage of biodiesel in the blend. For example, common blends of biodiesel in North America include B2 (2% biodiesel), B5(5%), B20(20%), and B100(100%). B100 is also know as "neat," or pure, biodiesel.
