Biodiesel
A hybrid car uses standard gasoline and electricity. A biodiesel car runs on a completely different fuel, such as ethanol. There are also other kinds of biodiesel that are being developed.
Biofuels are produced from plants, ethanol, biodiesel, and several other things.
the only ones I'm aware of are ethanol-gasoline and biodiesel
Biodiesel improves public health and the environment, and provides safety benefits. It also reduces greenhouse gas emissions better than gasoline, ethanol, and conventional diesel.
Vegetable Oil is used to make biodiesel, and corn is used to make ethanol for a gasoline substitute.
While not as a chart, this is an idea about combustion energy values: Ethanol 77,000 Btu per gallon, Gasoline 125,000 Btu per gallon, Diesel 135,000 Btu per gallon and Biodiesel 130,000 Btu per gallon. Grades of fuel imply differences in composition and thus differences in combustion Btu values. Combustion values for ethanol will not depend on source of ethanol as long as ethanol content/composition is the same. Ali Hamza A_Hamza@yahoo.com
There are a few different types of bio fuels. Some of these are biodiesel, ethanol, and biobutanol. These are all alternatives to fossil fuels.
Gasoline biofuel is a mixture of gasoline and ethanol. Ethanol is a plant based alcohol, I.E. biological. Biodiesel works the same was but is an oil not an alocohol. The diesel engine was original designed and ran on a biofuel(peanut oil).
Tallow is rendered mutton, beef or other bovine fat. Biodiesel can be made from tallow using similar methods and processes to plant oils. The resulting biodiesel has a higher cetane number than plant oil biodiesel meaning a cleaner and more efficient fuel.
Gasoline has a btu rating of around 110,000. Ethanol has a btu rating of around 76,000.
it kills your gas mileage and hurts your engine more than some idiots might think. my advice? don't use ethanol or biodiesel or any of that crap. just go with regular unleaded ethanol-free gasoline
Ethanol has hydrogen bond where as ether does not.
