In term of resources, renewable energy is the resource replenish-able or can regrown to replace the depleted resource such as biomass. Some energy source, such as wind or sunlight will always pass by but not readily deposited for our use and must be use at site that is the flow resources. The them flow resources is not widely use in the energy sector per my knowledge, in current case, it is still considered solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy a renewable energy.
Renewable resources are things that can be renewed, or made during a lifetime. This includes things like water, soil, air, forests and animals. However, the term is usually used to refer to energy resources. Examples- Wind, solar power, hydroelectric power and biomass from plants and animals are all renewable energy resources. Whereas coal, oil and gas are non renewable because they will eventually run out.
Renewable energy is a term applied to energy resources that replenish them self. Sustainable energy is essentially the same thing, energy resources that can be used indefinitely. The only difference to me might be the connotations, trees can be seen as a renewable resource but might not be the best sustainable option because you have to release carbon into the atmosphere to obtain energy. Solar energy could be called sustainable energy because your not having a negative impact by using it.
That follows directly from the definition of "renewable energy". A renewable energy is simply one that can be sustained in the long term.
Wind and solar energy are examples of renewable resources. There is a (practically) inexhaustible supply of each. Geothermal energy is another, less exploitable source of energy.Hydroelectric power can be considered renewable in the short term, providing the water is not diverted to other locations. Tidal power is another constantly available form.Wood, since it is made from trees, can be grown and replenished, but cannot have wide usage to provide energy for modern societies.
Non-renewable resources:There are loads of non-renewable resources, one of the ones we use mostly (and the one we are most in danger of losing) is oil. Without oil, we wouldn't be able to have things like heated water or be able to use radiators and making things like plastics, we even use it to make things like soap. We would also have no petrol to put in cars and to power some of the biggest machines in the world. If all the oil was to run out we would face a load of problems and wouldn't be able to do most of these things but would have to come up with alternatives instead.

Useful materials found in an environment are called natural resources. Not all natural resources are renewable. Minerals and fossil fuels are non-renewable natural resources. Water and tree are renewable.
because they are more expensive to run than non-renewables. The US, just like every other country in the world doesnt want to spend more money than others on energy and have its economy fall behind. In the long term though it will cost more to make renewable energy resources out of renewable energy when all the fossil fuels have depleted. But the long term is longer than a few generations and its hard to connect with your potential great great great grandkids
You are right: In that sense the term "renewable energy" is a misnomer. What renewable energy simply means is that you can continue using it for a long, long time.
