Lestat is the chief vampire in the Vampire stories of Anne Rice. Was made famous when the movie 'Interview with a vampire' came out.

Count Orlock was the vampire in the silent film Nosferatu.

Rasputin was a real person: a member of the court of Czar Nicolas before the Russian revolution. He was not a vampire, but because of his highly eccentric habits and conduct became notorious. He proved very hard to kill. His protracted assassination is the most famous thing about him and probably has given some credence to the vampire rumor.

Most would think of Dracula, the first really famous vampire. Others might also mention Carmilla, the vampire who inspired much of Stoker's work.

More recently, Edward Cullen seems to be the craze, although whether he is remembered in ten years (let alone a hundred or two) remains to be seen.
