If you can afford it I would hire an attorney. I had this happen to me and opted to get representation. He was able to talk to the prosecutor and get me what is called a stay of adjudication. Which means I was guilty and had to pay a fine and go 6 months without any other violations. After that the offense was wiped from my record.
