If you are facing the distributor cap from the passenger side, starting at nearest to the front of the truck and going clockwise the sequence is 1-3-4-2. The timing check page below illustrates this.
The wire sequence on the distributor cap just goes 1 thru 6, clockwise, starting from the number one position (which should be marked either on the cap or distributor).

Firing order is usually 1-3-4-2. So start from the front of the pickup, going clockwise. (mine is a 1991 Mazda b2600i).
the ht leads may not be nubered but the longest should be used for the furthest away sparkplug. if you need to fit them to the distributor cap, find the firing sequence of the vehicle, find when pison 1 is in top dead centre, then work from piston 1 on the distributor round in the order that the rotor turns, normally clockwise

1-3-4-2 is the firing order on the distributor. On the 8V 1.3L engine: #1 is by the radiator and goes in sequence to #4 by the firewall. On the distributor #1 is on the driver side and the rotor turns clockwise.

You need to manually rotate the engine and set the number one cylinder at Top Dead Center (TDC) before re-insalling the distributor. Hopefully, you made a mark on the distributor that relates its position to the engine in orde to re-install it as it was. If you forgot to make a mark, try to remember in which direction the rotor was pointing before you removed the distributor (assuming the engine was at TDC) and re-install it as close as you can. At TDC, the rotor normally points toward the number one spark plug wire post. Follow the firing order sequence from there.

fairly easy, if tou know the Chevy 350 timing order. if not its clockwise 18436572. first you need to track down your #1 spark plug (witch will be driver side front plug) trace that plug wire up to the distributor. mark that plug wire 1 and follow the numbers listed above in a clockwise sequence. when your done with that pull all the plug wires off. next pull the cap off. under the cap you will see the rotor. mark the position of the rotor with a bright marker on yhe distributor base. next take the distributor hold down strap off the distributor. then pull the distributor out. replace gasket and reverse process.
