Ford engines used to have the firing order engraved on the intake maniford. you might check there...otherwise an auto repair manual should have the answer. just looked up in 97-2002 repair manual and it relates to 4.6 and 5.4 v8 Two engines are mentionded 4.6 and 5.4. I'm not sure which one of these is the 351 v8? Irregardless, the firing order is the same Firing Order 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8 rt side of engine are cyls 1 -4 and left side cyl 5 -8....going from front to rear of engine I also just looked up in my 91 - 2000 repair manual for Ford v8 engines..and the 5.0 engine (which i believe is the 302 cu engine) also maps to this same firing order.

the firing order is the same on both engines but the timing is different
early for 289 302 windsor firing order was changed to the later 351 windsor firing order to smooth out the firing of cylinders. The early 289 firing order made cams sound lumpy and could cause extra stress on crankshafts when engines were used in motorsport at high rpm
