According to the American Cancer Society about 580,350 people are expected to die of cancer per year or about 1,600 people a day. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the USA. Heart disease is the first leading cause of death.

Smoking causes about 90% of lung cancer deaths in men and almost 80% in women.

Cause they are both wicked awesomesauce. America has the largest economy, Japan the second. So they lead in money. However in power, America is first, Russia in second. In world influence I would say Britain is first, France is second.
