Its easy to use software for folder sharing between several computers/laptops. Its way easier that Win XP sharing network program.
Public folder sharing
on windows set your network type to private in network and sharing centre the open the folder Network from the start menu and other computers will appear that are on the network
Usually virtual machines allow to create a shared folder for file sharing with other computers including the hosting computer. Create such folder and place the in the folder, access it from virtual machine.
It is possible to share a printer on a network. For example: two computers sharing one printer while the computers are connected to a home network (local Area Network - LAN). To share files between two computers, mark a folder or drive as shared - search Google on sharing files for more info.
The easiest way is to just take a LAN cable and connect the two computers . or you could use a router in between . now if you are using vista or win 7 [ dont really use xp so you gotta find out these settings yourself] go to the network and sharing center and turn on 1-network discovery 2-file sharing 3-public folder sharing turn off 1- password protected sharing copy what ever data you need to either the other computers public folder or into the same computers public folder and copy it to the other computer using the other computer . IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS 7 simply make a homegroup it makes file sharing very easy . just right click on the folder you want to share , go to the sharing tab and select read/write homegroup option . done now go to network from the other computer and copy it to that computer . :D
I am not aware of any sharing access for individual Excel files (if someone reading this knows how to do this with Windows, please improve the answer). File sharing permissions are for giving access to folders, not individual files. If you are not able to change the sharing permissions on the folder in which you have the Excel file stored, move the file to a folder or drive without sharing permissions. See related questions and links for information about file and folder sharing.
internet sharing folder
