"It appears that the ion redline can get up to 36 mpg highway. This is not as impressive when you factor in the only 28 mpg its gets in town. Unless you have a lot of long distance, high speed driving to do."
The Saturn Ion Redline was in production between 2003 and 2007. It was introduced with a base price of $20,950. One could be a used Saturn Ion Redline for as little as $2000.
A Toyota Corolla can get up to 120 MPG on the freeway. The newer models of Toyota Corolla can get anywhere up to 150 MPG, which is considerably fast for the brand.
They get about 13-14 mpg in the city not sure on the freeway, but I would guess about 19-21 on the freeway...
There are a lot of sites out there which offer reviews for the Saturn Ion Redline, sites like these include Edmunds, CarandDriver, AutoBytel and AutoPartsWarehouse.
Depends on the model. There is the standard V6 model and then the 5.0. My 5.0 got about 24 Mpg on the freeway, and about 12 Mpg city. If its the V6, you can expect up to 30 Mpg freeway and about 18 city.

The safety rating for a Saturn Ion Redline is low. It is not a car that people would recommend to others. As far as high performance this is not the car. It has unusual interior and exterior. Most people look at this vehicle as ugly.
Depends if its a 2.0l redline or a 2.2l stock ion. on the redline they are located under the center cover on top of the motor. you must remove the coils to get to the plugs. on the 2.2l idk. if its a DOHC then it is the same way.
