Oradour-sur-Glane is a small town located in the Haute-Vienne Department of France.
On Saturday the 10th of June 1944 soldiers of the Der Führer Regiment of the 2nd Waffen-SS Panzer Division Das Reich massacred a total of 642 men, women and children in what has been described as reprisal for increased French Resistance activity in the run up to the Allied D-Day Landings.
