2000 Crown Vics do not have distributors. Since the inception of the S.O.H.C. 4.6 motors, they have used coil packs and crank sensors to trigger the the ignition. So they do still use ignition wires. Later model S.O.H.C and most D.O.H.C 4.6 motors use coil on plug ignition, which eliminates the spark plug wires all together and have a separate coil on each plug.
