Driving conditions are always a factor, but aside from that it depends on what engine and transmission is in the car. For example, is it a turbo or non-turbo? Is it an automatic or a stick shift? The U.S. EPA mileage ratings can be found at fueleconomy.gov

on that model, regardless of the motor type, the main fuel pump is located in the gas tank. Most of the tie you can access it through the trunk, or in a wagon, under the floor panels.
in the fuel tank? just a wild guess.
3.2 bar or about 39 PSI
Yes. They are exactly the same as long as the newer wagon is also a 240 (not a 740). All 240 hoods are interchangeable from 1986 on.
i have a 1989 740 and mine is located on under the hood it the green 1 on the side next to the air filter
You need to replace it. There are 2 screws that hold it on.
someone told me $500+
How do you replace a fuel pump for a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Lxi Coupe ?
After searching everywhere I finally found the 1 site that does Volvo's, as I also own a 1991 740 GL Wagon with the Regina engine. This the site I had to go to http://www.vindecoder.net/. Good luck. Selina
There are several things that can cause your 1990 Volvo 740 to stall while driving. The most common cause is a bad fuel pump.
YES THE DOORS OF 740'S AND 940'S ARE THE SAME, THE ONLY DIFERENCE RESIDE INTHE WINDOW PLUG WHICH IS DIFERENT BETWEEN YEARS, SO USE THE SAME YEARDONOR CAR OR JUST CUT THE HARNES AND CHANGE IT WITH THE ONE FROM YOUR CAR, THE 2 WIRES ARE THE SAME. GOOD LUCK.
